Our Story: A 50+ Year Legacy of Care in Pittsburgh

Tadiso isn’t just a clinic; we are a part of the community. Our story began in August 1968, when a group of dedicated Black citizens in Manchester saw a need and stepped up to help their neighbors. Starting as a volunteer-led effort in a simple storefront, we’ve grown into one of the oldest and most respected treatment programs in the country.

What "Tadiso" Means to Us

Our name comes from the Ethiopian word for “renewal of life: mind, body, and spirit.” That’s exactly what we aim to provide for every person who walks through our doors. Whether it’s through medication like Methadone, Suboxone, or Injectables, or through our counseling and support services, our goal is to help you build a lifestyle that feels healthy, stable, and uniquely yours.

Why Choose Us?

We are pioneers in the field of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), and we’ve spent over 50 years perfecting our approach. We combine decades of experience with a deep commitment to our Allegheny County roots. When you come to Tadiso, you aren’t just a patient—you’re part of a legacy of recovery that spans generations.

A Proud CARF-Accredited Outpatient Opioid Treatment Program

Two women embrace joyfully in a bright, airy room, while two smiling men look on, creating an atmosphere of celebration and camaraderie.

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International has awarded Tadiso Incorporated the highest level of accreditation for our outpatient opioid treatment program. This CARF accreditation is a public seal of trust and commitment to quality based on internationally accepted standards.

Earning this highest level of CARF accreditation means Tadiso Incorporated has undergone a detailed peer-review process and demonstrated its commitment to offering quality programs and services to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit. Visit the CARF website for more information about the commission and its offered accreditations.
